  • It might be beneficial to be able to control/view the following factors: Camera Mode - Photo, Time-lapse, Video (Time permitting) Photo interval Duration (Default: Until stopped) Delay before starting (Default: 0) Name of the Photoshoot including date/time/location Current Status (Taking photoset x/N, Processing, Idle, Complete, etc) Bonus: Based on experimental data, estimate if a newly charged battery contains sufficient power for intended photoshoot Estimate required idle time post photoshoot to finish processing This can be done with with a physical interface or a web-based control.

  • This shouldn't be difficult but will be important to make the videos easily viewable. https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/6239930?hl=en

  • There are several layers of 3D printed components that will need to be designed and prototyped including: -Case for each camera with room for lens and cable -Larger structure to lock each camera in the proper orientation (camera holder) -Case for each Zero with room for the power and camera cables -Case for the Master Pi with power and USB ports accessible. Needs room for CPU heatsink. -(Optional?) Case for portable power supply -Enclosure for entire system – can just be away to interlock the above components

  • The homography matrix necessary to transform the photoset into an equirectangular frame must be calculated. Once the camera configuration is finalized, the homography matrix should never need to be recalculated. The MasterPi should be able to apply this transformation to each photoset.

  • I will need to determine how to arrange the cameras so that they can see as much of a 360x360 Field of View as possible.

  • The MasterPi must be able to communicate to a Zero over USB to handle 1) photo timing; one way communication and 2) collecting the photos for stitching; two way communication The Zero(s) will likely need to be configured as USB gadgets. https://learn.adafruit.com/turning-your-raspberry-pi-zero-into-a-usb-gadget Once working, this must be scalable so that the MasterPi can talk to all 4 Zeros at once. Testing will be needed to determine if the Zeros can be powered by the MasterPi or if they need their own power supply.
