What changed

  • replace the messenger-like icon with the selected Browser Code identity at 16, 48, and 128 px
  • keep the collapsed in-page change list anchored to the nearest viewport edge while it remains draggable
  • replace ambiguous plus/minus controls with up/down chevrons and matching accessible labels
  • prepare version 1.7.0 metadata, release notes, Store update copy, icon options, and the product/monetization plan
  • correct stale repository claims about the already-public v1.6 Store listing

Why

The previous icon read like a messaging or VPN product, and the compact panel did not preserve a clear spatial relationship to the viewport. The plus button also suggested adding an item rather than expanding the list.

User impact

The extension now reads more clearly as a browser-development tool. The minimized change list stays discoverable at the viewport perimeter, and its expand/collapse action is explicit.

Release boundary

This PR prepares the v1.7 source and package but does not tag or upload it. The manual PDF/redaction export, Visual Edit restoration, MCP handoff, and v1.7 compact-panel/icon checks in docs/manual-release-checklist.md must be completed first.

Validation

  • npm test
  • npm run check
  • npm run package
  • npm run verify:package
  • git diff --check
  • verified dist/dev-feedback-capture-v1.7.0.zip (17 files)
  • SHA-256: ae0ce93f3c8ae3ff9b152240516ebc5e7020f62ea36638abd199d19576106ff6
